COLUMBUS — A suspect identified as Relosse Delievre intentionally rammed a Columbus police cruiser multiple times and attempted a PIT maneuver on June 29, 2026. Delievre was taken into custody following the incident and later charged with two counts of felonious assault.

The incident began around 8:30 p.m. near West Broad Street and North Warren Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Two officers were responding to a separate call when they observed a crash blocking part of the road. Officers directed Delievre, who was involved in the crash, to move his vehicle to a nearby gas station because it was not disabled. During this interaction, an officer asked, “Why is this person, who’s following us?” just before the cruiser was struck.

Body camera video captured Delievre driving into the back of the police cruiser. Court records further indicate that Delievre struck the cruiser from behind a second time. Delievre also attempted a PIT maneuver on the cruiser and struck its front driver’s side, according to court records. The officer's vehicle sustained visible damage, and smoke emerged from its engine area.

Both officers then exited their cruiser and ordered the driver to show his hands. An officer stated via body camera audio that the driver was trapped inside and had rammed their cruiser. Delievre exited the vehicle through the passenger-side window and was subsequently taken into custody. The two officers involved received treatment at the scene.

Detectives interviewed Delievre at a hospital. Court records state Delievre admitted knowing he had been involved in a crash with a cruiser and intentionally struck it. After being released from the hospital, Delievre was booked into the Franklin County jail on two counts of felonious assault. Delievre was arraigned on July 1, 2026, where a judge set his bond at $2 million.
