San Antonio voters approved Project Marvel in November 2025, a public-private partnership intended to fund a new arena and downtown district for the San Antonio Spurs. Following this approval, Bexar County leaders are scheduled to discuss an amendment to a non-relocation agreement with the Spurs on July 7, 2026.

The Spurs are committing $500 million to Project Marvel. The project includes plans to revamp the Hemisfair area with a new arena, dining options, convention centers, and public spaces. San Antonio Spurs owner Peter Holt stated, "Games and Spurs-related events will increase traffic, tourism, and spending in the area of the new arena." Proponents of Project Marvel project $1.3 billion in revenue from the development.

San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones called for transparency regarding Project Marvel's funding. Jones stated, "Taxpayers should not have to shoulder an unfair portion of the bill for Project Marvel."

The proposed amendment to the non-relocation agreement would allow the Spurs to play up to four regular-season games outside the Frost Bank Center during the next two seasons. The current agreement permits the Spurs to play three games away from the Frost Bank Center: two games within 100 miles of the facility and one international game.

The Spurs have hosted home games in Austin, Paris, and Mexico City, and have hosted two games annually at the Moody Center in Austin since 2023. An NBA team is scheduled to play 41 home games per season. The Spurs have a game scheduled in Manchester in 2027. The team is also scheduled to play two games against the Pelicans in Paris and Manchester in January 2027, though only one of these is likely to count as a home game. The Spurs have not announced plans for their 2027 trip to the Moody Center in Austin. The team's current lease at the Frost Bank Center expires in 2032.
