LONDON — Miki Edelstein, an IDF reservist major general and executive vice-president of Elbit Systems, presented operational data from the IDF's digital warfare systems at a land warfare conference organized by the Royal United Services Institute in London. A slide presented by Edelstein cited more than 20,000 IDF battle plans and 850,000 real-time intelligence targets. The figure covered the period from October 7, 2023, to the end of 2025.

Elbit Systems supplies the IDF's Tzayad digital army program, which maps the positions of friendly units and those deemed to be enemies. Nato's second most senior military commander, Britain's Air Chief Marshal Sir Johnny Stringer, and a brigadier from the British army also participated in the session.

An Elbit spokesperson stated the 850,000 figure reflected aggregated system activity and operational data generated through the IDF's digital army program across all operational theaters since October 7, 2023. The spokesperson added that these figures represent system activity and operational data, rather than the number of enemy targets or actual strikes.

Edelstein described the targets as an "enemy that pops up from under the ground or by manoeuvre." He stated that the military does not have enough ammunition to hit all detected targets immediately. Edelstein said a man in the loop would decide whether fire support missions proceeded. He noted the Elbit-run digital army program helped increase the speed of external fire support from a range of 40 to 50 minutes down to one to seven minutes. A line on the Elbit slide indicated more than 46,000 joint strikes and closing fire on real-time intelligence.

Wes Bryant, a former senior targeting adviser and policy analyst at the US Pentagon, commented on the target numbers. Bryant said, "There is no way each of the 1,000 targets a day are thoroughly and effectively characterised in terms of collateral damage analysis and assessed risk to civilian populations." Elbit Systems secured a contract earlier this year to further develop the Tzayad system using artificial intelligence to support tactical decision-making.
