CUMBERLAND — Frankfort High School placed three players on the 2026 Cumberland Times-News All-Area baseball first team, with senior Lanson Orndorf earning the Area Player of the Year honor for the second consecutive year. Ten schools had at least one selection to the All-Area squad, which was chosen at a meeting on Monday, July 4, 2026.

Frankfort and Fort Hill each had three players on the first team. Frankfort senior Jaxon Hare was named to the first team as a pitcher, and Frankfort senior Blake Jacobs was selected as a shortstop. Jacobs made his third consecutive appearance on the first team.

Orndorf, a pitcher, led all local pitchers with a 0.58 earned-run average. He ended the season with an 11-3 win-loss record and recorded 112 strikeouts in 84 innings. Earlier in the season, he was named to the Class AA All-State first team and the Division 1 All-Potomac Valley Conference first team.

Hare finished his season with an 8-1 win-loss record, a 1.55 ERA, and 41 strikeouts across 49 2/3 innings pitched. He was also named to the Class AA All-State and All-PVC Division 1 first teams. Jacobs batted .404, accumulating four triples, 15 doubles, 23 RBIs, 38 runs scored, and 21 stolen bases during the season. He also received recognition on the Class AA All-State and All-PVC Division 1 first teams.

Frankfort junior Jesus Perdew was named to the second team as a catcher, and Frankfort junior Gunnar Bradshaw was named to the second team outfield. In total, Frankfort and Allegany each had five honorees across the first and second teams. Eight coaches attended the selection meeting, where they nominated 12 players for consideration.

Frankfort concluded its season with a 27-7 record, having won the West Virginia Class AA state championship. Fort Hill finished with a 12-10-1 record and advanced to the Maryland Class 1A state quarterfinals. East Hardy concluded its season with a 21-12 record and reached the West Virginia Class A quarterfinals, while Northern finished with a 14-7 record and was the Maryland West Region I runner-up.
