BELLEVILLE — Andrew Campbell signed a three-year contract on June 25, 2026, to become the head coach of the Belleville Senators for the 2026-27 AHL season. Campbell previously served as interim head coach for the team during the preceding season following David Bell's departure.

The coaching staff for the upcoming season will also include Stefan Legein and Paul Gibson, both returning for their third season with the club as an assistant coach and goaltending coach, respectively. Joe Cirella has joined the Belleville Senators coaching staff for the 2026-27 AHL season.

Cirella played in 828 NHL games during his professional career. He played for multiple teams, including the New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Rockies, and Ottawa Senators. Cirella was with the Ottawa Senators during the 1995-96 season.

The Colorado Rockies selected Cirella fifth overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the Colorado Rockies during their final season in Denver before the franchise relocated to become the New Jersey Devils. Dave Cameron, the current head coach of the Ottawa 67s, was a teammate of Cirella on the Colorado Rockies.

Cirella, who is 63 years old, spent eight seasons on the coaching staff of the Calgary Wranglers, which is the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. He left the Calgary Wranglers coaching staff at the end of the 2025-26 season. His coaching experience also includes 13 seasons as an assistant coach in the OHL with the Soo Greyhounds, Peterborough Petes, and Oshawa Generals. Additionally, Cirella served on the Florida Panthers coaching staff during the 1997-98 season.
