SIGNAL MOUNTAIN — Andrew Coyle and Austin Scofield, both prosecutors in the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office, picked up qualifying papers at the election office on July 2, 2026, to run for seats on the Signal Mountain Council. Coyle and Scofield will appear on the ballot.
"P. Andrew Coyle serves as executive assistant district attorney for Hamilton County, where he has worked since 2015, prosecuting some of the county's most serious and high-profile criminal cases," according to campaign information. "Andrew has served on the Signal Mountain Planning Commission since 2022 and was appointed chairman in 2025, a role he currently holds."
Regarding Scofield, campaign information states: "Austin has dedicated most of his adult life to public service, currently serving the community as an assistant district attorney for Hamilton County." The information further notes that "Austin serves on the Signal Mountain Planning Commission."
The candidacies of Coyle and Scofield introduce two individuals with prosecutorial backgrounds and experience on the Signal Mountain Planning Commission into the race for the Signal Mountain Council. Their decision to seek council positions follows their continued public service roles within Hamilton County and on the local planning commission.
