The U.S. Navy is conducting market research for an "Advanced Emission Suppression Missile" with extended range. The Direct and Time Sensitive Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-242) is seeking potential sources for a system equivalent to the AGM-88G Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile Extended Range (AARGM-ER).

The service plans a "strategic pause" in procurement of the AGM-88G in fiscal 2027. Northrop Grumman currently builds the AGM-88G AARGM-ER.

The Advanced Emission Suppression Missile is designed to target modern radar systems at standoff distances to knock out enemy air defense systems. The Navy stated its interest in identifying a mature design system at Technology Readiness Level 6-plus. The missile must include an advanced anti-radiation seeker with broad frequency coverage and be capable of integrating future sensors, effectors, navigation systems, communications systems, and mission processing capabilities with minimal redesign.

The new weapon system must be capable of integration onto aircraft carrier-based platforms, including the F-35 Lightning II, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and EA-18G Growler. For the F-35 Lightning II, the integration supports both internal and external carriage.

The envisioned missile system encompasses the All-Up-Round missile, necessary hardware, software, unique logistics elements, trainers, a flyout model, and system verification elements. The Navy is considering potential delivery quantities of up to 600 all-up rounds per year and aims for a 48-month period of performance to complete design and integration work. The service also seeks delivery of the first production lot following a contract award.

The request for information was released on a Wednesday. Industry responses to this request are due by July 31.
