Amaneos completed its acquisition of Magna's European automotive lighting operations on July 1, 2026. This transaction finalizes an agreement initially announced in April.

The acquired European unit will integrate into Amaneos' subsidiary, Light Mobility Solutions (LMS). This acquisition includes two manufacturing facilities located in Moncalieri, Italy, and Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland. The deal also encompasses engineering hubs in Rivoli, Italy, and Ostrava, Czech Republic.

The automotive lighting business reported revenues of approximately €200 million ($227.9 million) in 2025. It employs around 1,500 individuals and produces a range of products, including rear, front, and accent lighting. Its offerings also feature illuminated grille and panel systems that utilize LED, OLED, micro/mini-LED, and matrix ADB technology.

Amaneos plans to integrate Magna's front and rear lighting technology with LMS's existing exterior panel offerings. This move is part of Amaneos' strategy to transition from supplying individual components to delivering more complex, technology-driven modules for the automotive industry.

Magna announced its intent to divest its lighting and rooftop systems divisions in April as part of three separate transactions. This divestiture is aligned with a broader restructuring effort within Magna's Power & Vision segment. In 2025, the combined lighting and rooftop systems units generated global revenues of approximately $1.1 billion. The lighting division contributed about $1 billion to this total, while the rooftop systems division accounted for roughly $100 million.

The integration of these operations is intended to support Amaneos' goal of providing advanced, modular lighting and exterior panel systems, moving beyond the production of standalone components.
