MILAN — Bending Spoons priced its initial public offering (IPO) above its marketed range at $29 per share, raising $1.68 billion. The company is scheduled for its U.S. market debut on July 1, 2026, offering 58 million shares from Bending Spoons and selling shareholders.

The IPO valued the company at $18.4 billion based on outstanding shares detailed in its filings. The marketed price range for the shares before pricing was between $26 and $28 per share.

Bending Spoons has expanded its portfolio through more than 50 acquisitions. Since 2025, it has acquired streaming platform Brightcove, video platform Vimeo, internet brand AOL, and ticketing marketplace Eventbrite. According to its IPO prospectus, the company has identified over 1,000 digital businesses as potential future acquisition targets.

Matt Kennedy, a Senior Strategist, commented on the IPO. He said Bending Spoons has "a very different profile compared to most software IPOs in the pipeline." He added, "It'll definitely be a data point for the software industry, but that may simply be due to the scarcity of deals here." Kennedy also addressed the company's strategy, stating, "The 'fix it with AI' pitch makes sense in theory, though we would have liked to see a longer track record."

Bending Spoons, led by CEO Luca Ferrari, does not sell the businesses it acquires. The company began in 2013 with $40,000 remaining after the liquidation of the diary app Evertale. Ferrari and his co-founders utilized these funds to establish the company. The name Bending Spoons was inspired by a scene from the science-fiction film "The Matrix."
