KENTON, TENN. — An Obion County Grand Jury indicted Jessica Quarles on Monday, June 22, 2026, in connection with the shooting deaths of her two children. The indictment included charges of first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated child abuse.

Law enforcement arrested Quarles on the same day and booked her into the Obion County Jail without bond. The charges stem from an incident on June 13, 2026, when the Kenton Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Jan Lynn Street.

At the residence, police found 1-year-old Landrie Harris and 11-year-old McKenna Young deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Jessica Quarles, 32, was also located with stab wounds and was transported to Regional One hospital in Memphis. By June 14, 2026, she was in critical condition at the hospital.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) joined the Kenton Police Department's investigation on June 13, 2026, at the request of 27th Judicial District Attorney General Colin Johnson. During the investigation, authorities identified Quarles as the individual responsible for the children's deaths.

The grand jury indicted Quarles on two counts of first-degree premeditated murder and two counts of first-degree felony murder. She was also charged with aggravated child abuse/neglect/endangerment of a vulnerable child and aggravated child abuse/neglect/endangerment of a child 8 and under.
