HENDERSON, NEVADA — Haleigh Morgan Knight, a resident of Henderson, Nevada, was sentenced on June 24, 2024, to 30 days in the Clark County Detention Center and two years of probation. Knight pleaded guilty in March 2024 to defrauding victims of $19,787.12 by faking pancreatic cancer and fabricating business relationships with luxury hotels.

Knight represented herself as a social media content creator and travel adviser with professional connections to luxury hotels. During the proceedings, Judge Jessica Peterson addressed Knight, stating, "You changed people's lives for your own selfishness and your own greed." Knight is required to pay restitution to her victims and has one week from her sentencing date to report to the jail.

Cydney Fink and a relative had planned to collaborate with Knight as travel creators. Fink stated, "We were excited to build something meaningful together as a family." An April affidavit from the Henderson Police Department alleged that as trip dates neared, Knight would provide an excuse for cancellation.

Knight also claimed to victims that she had pancreatic cancer. During her sentencing, Knight stated, "Over the last year, I've continued working, supporting my family, getting the help I need to better understand the choices I made to make sure I never find myself in this position again." She added, "I respectfully ask the court to give me the opportunity to continue moving forward, make restitution, support my family, and prove through my actions that I can learn from this and be a better person."
