RICHLAND COUNTY — The Mansfield News Journal is conducting a Reader's Choice vote to determine the Best Team of 2025-26. Voting for this competition will conclude at 7 p.m. on July 3, 2026.

Several teams secured conference championships during the 2025-26 high school sports season. In boys golf, Lexington and Crestview each won a conference title. Ontario won a girls golf conference championship, and the girls soccer conference titles went to Ontario, Clear Fork, and Mansfield Christian. Madison and Mansfield Christian claimed boys soccer conference championships.

Lexington's girls tennis team won a conference championship. In football, both Lexington and Shelby earned conference championship titles. Crestview won the boys cross country conference championship, while Ontario and Lexington also secured conference championships in boys cross country. Shelby, Crestview, Lexington, and Mansfield Christian each won girls cross country conference championships.

Clear Fork and Mansfield Christian won girls basketball conference championships. Ontario's girls swim and boys swim teams each earned conference championships. Mansfield Senior won the boys basketball conference championship, and Crestview claimed the wrestling conference championship. Mansfield Christian won the softball conference championship.

In track and field, Ontario secured conference championships for both boys and girls. Girls track and field conference titles were also won by Lexington and Crestview, while Lucas won a boys track and field conference championship. In district competitions, Ontario, Lexington, and Mansfield Christian won girls soccer titles, and Clear Fork won the boys soccer district championship.

Lexington won district championships in both boys and girls cross country. Ontario's boys and girls swimming teams each earned district championship titles. Mansfield Senior won the boys basketball district championship. Clear Fork, Madison, and Ontario took district championships in softball. Clear Fork also won the wrestling district championship, and Ontario won the boys track and field district championship. Lexington's boys tennis team won a district championship.

Lexington advanced to win regional championships in both boys and girls cross country. Shelby won the football regional championship, and Madison won the softball regional championship. Ontario won the boys track regional championship. Shelby Football finished as the state runner-up, and Ontario Boys Swimming was also the state runner-up. Lexington's Boys Cross Country team won the state championship.
