EDINBURGH — Scotland women's national football team head coach Melissa Andreatta announced the squad for World Cup qualifying matches against Belgium scheduled for 14 April in Edinburgh and 18 April in Leuven. The announcement comes as Scotland prepares to face Belgium with both teams holding six points from their opening qualifying matches in March 2026.

Scotland defeated Luxembourg 5-0 away and 7-0 at home in their March qualifying matches, while Belgium secured two victories against Israel. The teams will meet at Easter Road in Edinburgh on 14 April before the return fixture in Leuven four days later.

"We're in a competitive game now, trying to qualify for something big in a major tournament. What we have is a group of players that are doing that weekly for clubs," said Andreatta.

Eilidh Adams has been recalled to the squad after missing the March matches against Luxembourg. The 21-year-old returns as Scotland seeks to maintain their perfect qualifying record.

Kathleen McGovern is included despite sustaining an injury at the weekend. "She's an example of that mentality amongst the group. I'm in touch with our medical team, who are in touch with Hibs and we're taking it day-by-day but it was precautionary at this point," she said.

Leah Eddie, who won her fourth cap as a late call-up in the second Luxembourg match, is retained in the squad. Chelsea Cornet and Amy Muir return after withdrawing from the previous camp. Cornet, 27, plays midfield for Birmingham City while Muir, 26, is a full-back for Glasgow City.

Rangers midfielder Jodi McLeary and Nottingham Forest midfielder Amy Rodgers are not included after serving as unused substitutes in both Luxembourg matches. McLeary, 20, has yet to win her first cap while Rodgers is 25.

Scotland will conclude their qualifying campaign with two matches against Israel in June 2026. The top three teams in the group will progress to play-offs scheduled from October through December.
