FRISCO — The Dallas Cowboys conducted practice at the Ford Center at the Star Training Facility in Frisco, Texas, on May 1, 2026. The team utilized the 2026 offseason to rebuild their defense, a process that included installing an entirely new defensive coaching staff.

Christian Parker serves as the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys. The organization's offseason efforts also involved executing trades and signing free agents to improve the roster. Additionally, the Cowboys focused nearly all of their selections in the 2025 NFL Draft on defensive players.

First-round draft picks Caleb Downs, a safety, and Malachi Lawrence, an edge rusher, were among the defensive selections from the 2025 NFL Draft. Linebacker Jaishawn Barham was selected in the third round and wore jersey number 55 during practice. Other linebackers on the team include DeMarvion Overshown, who is eligible for free agency after the 2026 season, and Dee Winters, who previously played for the San Francisco 49ers.

Devin Moore, a cornerback, participated in practice wearing jersey number 29. He is 6-foot-3 tall and weighs nearly 200 pounds. The cornerback group also includes Daron Bland, who has experienced injuries during his time with the team, along with Shavon Revel Jr. and Caelen Carson, who both missed two seasons due to injuries.
