KNOXVILLE — Cheryl Reeve will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville on June 27, 2026. Reeve will become the second WNBA coach to receive this honor.

Van Chancellor was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001. Reeve has coached the Minnesota Lynx since 2010, leading them to four WNBA championships. She has accumulated 378 career victories as a WNBA coach.

Reeve has also received the WNBA Coach of the Year honor four times and the WNBA Executive of the Year award twice. In 2024, she led the U.S. women's Olympic team to a gold medal at the Paris Games.

"I appreciate the magnitude of this recognition of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame and the great work that has gone into this institution," Reeve said. "To walk around and see the history of how much has been done years before I could ever have this opportunity to coach," she added.

WNBA player Elena Delle Donne, also an inductee, commented on Reeve's coaching style. "She made life really hard when we were playing against her," Delle Donne said. The induction class will also include Isabelle Fijalkowski, who was part of the Cleveland Rockers team that reached the WNBA Finals in 1997, and Barbara Kennedy-Dixon, a long-time administrator at Clemson.

Background

Reeve's induction recognizes her career in the WNBA as both a coach and executive. Her four WNBA championships and multiple individual awards place her among the most successful figures in the league's history. The induction follows her coaching tenure with the Minnesota Lynx since 2010 and her success coaching the U.S. women's Olympic team to a gold medal in 2024.
