CROMWELL, CONNECTICUT — Scottie Scheffler shot a 10-under-par 60 in the second round of the 2026 Travelers Championship on Friday in Cromwell, Connecticut. The performance gave him a two-shot lead over Viktor Hovland.

Scheffler recorded 11 birdies and one bogey during his round. He hit 15 of 16 greens in regulation and holed 145 feet of putts. He missed a 26-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole. Overnight rain had delayed the start of the second round by 30 minutes.

The 30-year-old from Dallas, Texas, was paired with Sam Burns during the first two rounds. Scheffler commented on the playing conditions, stating, "The conditions were really good this morning. Softer golf course, not as much wind." He added that going out on Thursday afternoon, "when the greens get firm out here and the wind starts to blow, it can get tricky pretty quickly."

Scheffler has one win and eight top-5 finishes in 13 starts during the 2026 PGA Tour season. He won the American Express tournament earlier in the season but had not secured a PGA Tour event title for 17 weeks prior to the Travelers Championship weekend. He finished second at the Masters, Heritage, and Doral tournaments in 2026.

Regarding the possibility of shooting a 59, which he did during the 2020 Northern Trust at TPC Boston, Scheffler noted that Jim Furyk holds the PGA Tour record with a 58. "It was kind of funny. It was like, yeah, it would be cool to shoot 59, but somebody has already shot 58 here, so it's not even the course record," Scheffler said.

Hovland, from Norway, is seeking his eighth PGA Tour title; his last win was at the Valspar Championship. Scheffler is seeking his 21st career PGA Tour title.
