CHICAGO — The Chicago Sky defeated the Portland Fire 101-78 on June 24, 2026. The victory ended a six-game losing streak for the Sky, bringing their season record to 4-12.

Chicago trailed 6-0 at the start of the game but rebounded to shoot 52.2 percent from the field. The Sky outrebounded Portland 38-29, scored 56 points in the paint, and tallied 22 second-chance points.

Seven Sky players scored in double figures. Skylar Diggins recorded 15 points, six assists, and three rebounds. Sydney Taylor added 14 points and four assists, marking her fifth consecutive game scoring in double figures. Taylor has averaged 13 points per game over her last seven contests, including a 30-point performance against the Indiana Fever on June 11, 2026. Jacy Sheldon also scored 14 points and dished out three assists.

Kamilla Cardoso, who previously scored 22 points against the Fire on May 10, 2026, contributed 13 points and eight rebounds. Azurá Stevens recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, along with five assists. Gabriela Jaquez scored 10 points and had five assists, while Alicia Coulibaly tallied 10 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Head coach Tyler Marsh awarded Coulibaly a dog chain after the game. Natasha Cloud added nine points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Marsh commented on Taylor's impact. "People know now what she's capable of doing, and that in itself holds some weight when she's out there, just whether it's helping us space the floor or just giving another downhill body to kind of loosen the defense a little bit," Marsh said. "And then she's agile defensively as well. So she's been great for us, and she had another really good night tonight. So we're all proud of her."

Cloud discussed the team's approach. "A little bit of our focus here of late is just simplifying things and not adding so much pressure," Cloud said. "We see this record. We should have pulled some of these wins out, but we are committed to being focused on resetting each day and being able to have the blessing of each day is a new day to reset and come back in and just re-attack it. So tomorrow it starts with our film session and our walkthrough, trying to protect our bodies here a little bit because we keep adding games." The Sky are currently without Courtney Vandersloot due to a knee injury, DiJonai Carrington due to a foot injury, and Rickea Jackson, who is out for the season with a knee injury. The Portland Fire hold an 8-9 record.
