Wrexham Football Club announced on June 26, 2026, that striker Paul Mullin has departed the club by mutual consent. Mullin joined Wrexham on a free transfer from Cambridge United on July 23, 2021.

Mullin scored 110 goals in 172 games across all competitions for the club and became its ninth-highest goalscorer of all time. He signed a three-year deal upon joining, with his contract initially set to expire in the summer of 2027.

Mullin made his debut on August 21, 2021, scoring in a 2-2 draw against Solihull Moors. He scored 32 goals in the 2021-22 season, which included two goals in a 5-4 defeat to Grimsby Town in the National League play-off semi-finals on May 28, 2022. Wrexham won the National League title on April 22, 2023. Mullin also received the Golden Ball award for finishing as the top scorer in the 2022-23 FA Cup, having scored nine goals in the tournament.

In October 2022, Mullin revealed custom-made boots on social media without the club's knowledge. The boots featured an offensive slogan about the Conservative Party, and Wrexham subsequently banned him from wearing them. He signed a contract extension with Wrexham in January 2024.

Mullin suffered a punctured lung on July 26, 2023, in a collision with goalkeeper Nathan Bishop during a pre-season friendly against Manchester United. He spent two weeks recuperating in Los Angeles before returning to play. Mullin made his comeback as a substitute in a 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers on September 9, 2023. He scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Morecambe on November 25, 2023.

Mullin missed the beginning of the 2024-25 season due to surgery for a back injury. He joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan in June 2025, where he scored five goals in 26 appearances. His loan spell was cut short in January 2026, after which he signed for Bradford City on loan. He failed to score in nine games for Bradford City. Mullin has not played for Wrexham since February 2025.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson commented on Mullin's departure. "I would like to wish Paul all the best," Parkinson said. "This settlement enables him to take his time and find the right club for him, going forward. It can't be underestimated the role Mulls has played in the story of Wrexham Football Club over the last five years, with so many memorable goals and moments. He'll be a player always remembered and revered by our supporters."
