CHATTANOOGA — Jeanie Sharon Hammond, wife of former Chattanooga Sheriff Jim Hammond, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 29, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Ridgedale Baptist Church.
Dr. Doug Plumlee will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Ridgedale Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Born in North Carolina, Jeanie Hammond was raised in Chattanooga, where she graduated from Central High School. She later attended Tennessee Temple College.
She married Jim Hammond in 1969 while he was serving in the United States Navy. Jeanie Hammond worked as an Estée Lauder representative.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sundi Noles; her sister, Debra Kuhn; and her parents, Cecil and Inez Bateman. She is survived by her husband, Jim Hammond; her son, Jimi Hammond; and her daughter, Brandi Michiels. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Donham.
Her grandchildren include Jacon Jordan, Gracie Hammond, Jerrica Foster, Mason McGill, Bradon Michiels, Maren Michiels, Cole Michiels, and Carson Noles. Her great-grandchildren are Willo Foster, Aysen McGill, Ridge McGill, Lainey McGill, Dawn Noles, Vaelen Saucier, and Colt Saucier.
