TAMPA — Detroit Lions player Terrion Arnold was arrested in Hillsborough County, Florida, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. He turned himself in to law enforcement in connection with a February robbery and kidnapping in Tampa.

The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office announced it will file charges against Arnold. The office stated, "Arnold is facing multiple felony charges which carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison." Arnold faces four counts of a weapon-related charge and four counts of a charge related to kidnapping, harming, or terrorizing, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrest records. Authorities contend that Arnold orchestrated the February 2026 kidnapping and robbery in an effort to recover stolen property.

The alleged incident occurred on February 4, 2026, at an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, which Arnold had rented. Police allege that during the incident, three men were held at gunpoint, battered, and pistol-whipped. Authorities accuse Arnold of being the primary conspirator in the case. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office released a booking photo of Arnold.

The State Attorney's Office intends to file a pretrial motion aimed at keeping Arnold in jail until trial. "He remains a danger to the community," the office said. Arnold had reported items missing to the Largo Police Department prior to the alleged kidnapping. The stolen property allegedly included watches, jewelry, designer bags and shoes, a cell phone, and an estimated $100,000 in cash.

Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, said, "Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence." White added, "There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations. Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences." State Attorney Suzy Lopez stated, "No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. A dispute over missing property does not justify kidnapping, violence, or retaliation."

Arnold's first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Arnold is 23 years old and was a first-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2024.
