ARKANSAS — Walmart agreed to pay $1.4 billion to acquire Vibe.co, a French advertising-technology firm, on June 24, 2026. The company expects the transaction to close by the end of its fiscal year 2027.
Vibe.co enables advertising through internet-connected televisions and streaming content, with a focus on small and medium-size advertisers. Following the deal's closure, Vibe.co co-founders Arthur Querou and Frank Tetzlaff will join Walmart Connect. Walmart Connect serves ads on the retailer's website, app, in-store screens, and online, utilizing customer data for targeting.
Walmart does not expect the acquisition to impact recent financial projections related to sales and operating income. Ryan Mayward, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Walmart Connect US, stated, "We want to be where our customers are spending their time." Mayward added, "Walmart Connect is focused on making commerce media more accessible, more measurable and easier to activate for advertisers of all sizes." He further noted, "Vibe.co has created a purpose-built platform that simplifies streaming TV advertising, and together, we can help more businesses connect with customers across streaming environments while measuring the impact of those campaigns through Walmart's commerce capabilities."
According to some estimates, Walmart's advertising business generated $6.4 billion in revenue. This acquisition follows Walmart's purchase of Vizio in 2024.
John Furner became CEO of Walmart in the winter of 2025. Also in the winter of 2025, David Guggina was promoted to CEO of Walmart's U.S. division. In 2025, Walmart moved its shares from the New York Stock Exchange to the Nasdaq.
