CHATTANOOGA — Nikkarra Crisp was arrested by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office following a pursuit that began with a suspected DUI traffic stop on Highway 153. The incident concluded at a local motel where deputies located the suspect hiding in a room alongside two other individuals with active warrants.

An HCSO traffic investigator attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle exhibiting behavior indicative of a DUI while traveling south on Highway 153. The vehicle fled the traffic stop, initiating a pursuit. The HCSO Traffic Unit terminated the pursuit due to reckless driving and heavy traffic conditions around the I-75 / I-24 split.

Following the termination of the chase, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Caldwell found the suspect’s abandoned vehicle parked at McKay’s Bookstore. HCSO deputies focused their search on a room at America's Best Inn, located across the street from the abandoned vehicle. During the search of the premises, investigators discovered the vehicle key in the hotel room.

Deputies entered the room and found a suspect hiding under a bed. Two other wanted fugitives with active warrants were found in the same room at America's Best Inn. The two fugitives found in the hotel room were not involved in the vehicle pursuit. All arrested individuals were taken into custody during the operation.

Nikkarra Crisp faces active court warrants for aggravated burglary and theft of property. In addition to the outstanding warrants, Crisp faces charges for felony evading arrest, DUI (second offense), evading arrest, reckless driving, failure to exercise due care, speeding, and failure to wear a seat belt. The arrested individuals were transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center. The investigation involved coordination between HCSO Patrol, Traffic, K9, Criminal Warrants, and Crime Analysis Units, along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
