SAN ANTONIO — A chain-reaction crash involving at least seven cars occurred on Northwest Loop 410 near the Military Drive exit in San Antonio around 3 a.m. on June 14, 2026. Police said at least one person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries following the crash.

Dashcam video shows two vehicles appearing to initially collide along the shoulder of the highway. Several other cars collided with one of the vehicles, which flipped over on its side in the middle of the highway. One of the vehicle's occupants is seen carrying a woman out of one of the vehicles.

An eyewitness who captured the crash on dashcam stated during a 911 call, "People can't see, it's really dark out here." The eyewitness also noted encountering debris: "As I'm getting over this hill, I'm starting to hit a little bit of debris in the road. So I start to slow down a little bit. Then, pretty much out of nowhere, there was a flipped car right in front of me."

The eyewitness added, "They definitely need to do some upgrades. It was so dark, I was going to hit the person as well." The witness continued, "It's very dangerous, and obviously stuff like this can happen at any time, and it takes mere seconds for things to go down a dark road."

The Texas Department of Transportation stated that safety is its top priority and new illumination has been installed in the area as part of a construction project. The agency noted that in some cases, illumination may not be fully operational due to damaged equipment. Several highway light fixtures appeared to be inoperable along the stretch of Northwest Loop 410 where the crash occurred.
