TALLAHASSEE — Florida State added seven players to its 2027 recruiting class in June. The Seminoles currently have 12 total commitments for the 2027 class.

CJ Ohuabunwa, a three-star linebacker, committed to Florida State on Monday. He chose Florida State over Virginia Tech, Kansas, and Louisville. During his junior season, Ohuabunwa recorded 117 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups. Greater Atlanta Christian, Ohuabunwa's team, finished the season with a 10-3 record. Ernie Sims serves as the linebackers coach for Florida State, which utilizes a 3-3-5 defensive scheme.

Florida State previously offered a scholarship to prospective student-athlete Brayden Tillman, who is ranked as the No. 650 overall player and No. 67 quarterback in the Rivals industry ranking. Tillman played in 10 games as a sophomore at Traverse City West High School, which had a 5-5 record. As a sophomore, he completed 54.4% of his passes for 880 yards, throwing 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions, and also rushed for 277 yards and two touchdowns.

Tillman said he spent time with Coach Tucker and Coach Stone, noting, "They were great, coaching me up and answering any questions my parents or I had." He also met with head coach Mike Norvell, stating, "He is honest and up front and I love that about him."

Ashton Daniels is the quarterback for Florida State for the 2026 season, with head coach Mike Norvell handling play-calling duties. Daniels has 23 career starts, nearly 4,800 career passing yards, and over 1,300 career rushing yards. A Florida State source indicated that Daniels is expected to perform well, stating, "I think he's going to play a lot better than people think he will."
