Palm Beach International Airport will be renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, with the change becoming effective on July 9, 2026. The name change is contingent upon final Federal Aviation Administration approval, which is anticipated on the same date.

The airport's three-letter IATA code is scheduled to change from PBI to DJT on August 18, 2026. Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB919 on March 30, a state law that facilitates the renaming of major commercial service airports in Florida. HB919 will become law on July 1.

The Florida Senate voted 25-11 in favor of HB919, and the Florida House voted 81-30 in support of the bill. Palm Beach County commissioners had previously voted on March 5 regarding a trademark deal to permit the airport's renaming. The airport stated on its website that the name change is required by state law.

The airport announced that transition activities will occur in phases, including updates to signage, branding, and all public-facing materials. It also stated that its operations and services will continue without interruption throughout this process.

Eric Trump posted a statement on social media concerning the renaming: "Palm Beach International Airport is now officially…. 'President Donald J. Trump International Airport!' Palm Beach International Airport originally opened in 1936 as Morrison Field. Morrison Field was deactivated on June 30, 1947, and the Board of County Commissioners voted on August 11, 1948, to change its name to Palm Beach International Airport.
