San Antonio police are asking for public help to identify men involved in an alleged assault outside a downtown hotel on the weekend of June 13, 2026. The attack took place as a father and son were returning to their hotel near the intersection of N. St. Mary's and E. Houston streets. The victims had traveled to San Antonio to watch Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Spurs and the Knicks.

The son stated, "People came from back and started punching us." He described his father falling to the ground during the assault. "My dad went down first. I don't know if he was punched and fell or if he was pushed down and hit his head on the ground, but that's where the main injury came from," the son said.

Security camera images show at least two men whom police are trying to identify. One image shows the back of a man with a visible tattoo on his arm. The victims received the security images from detectives. Police are also seeking a vehicle believed to be connected to the suspects, described as a newer-model red, four-door Chevy truck with upgraded trim and black side steps. Investigators said the vehicle could be a Silverado or Trail Boss. Officers have not stated whether a Crime Stoppers reward will be offered in the case.
