IDAHO — Bode Miller was arrested in Boise, Idaho, on June 6, 2024, on misdemeanor charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Miller pleaded not guilty to both charges following the arrest.

Court records indicate Miller was released on a $5,000 cash bond. A pre-trial hearing for the case is scheduled for July 29. According to a probable cause affidavit, police claim Miller possessed 4.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Miller, 48, is a native of Franconia, New Hampshire, and an alumnus of Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine. He retired from competitive skiing in October 2017.

Miller is scheduled for induction into the United States Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame in 2025. Over his career, he accumulated six Olympic medals while competing in the Olympic Winter Games in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014. His Olympic record includes two silver medals from the 2002 Games, a gold medal from the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, and a silver and bronze medal also from the 2010 Games. He also earned a bronze medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

In World Cup competition, Miller secured 33 career victories and 79 total medals. He won overall World Cup titles in 2005 and 2008 and claimed gold medals at the 2003 and 2005 FIS World Championships. Miller is the only U.S. male alpine skier to win events in downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and combined disciplines.

Miller is married to Morgan Miller, and the couple has six children together. He also has two children from previous relationships. His daughter, Emeline, died in a pool drowning incident on June 10, 2018.
