President Trump's endorsed candidates ousted incumbent Republican Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana in 2026. Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie was also removed from office by a Trump-endorsed candidate in the same year.

Despite these successes, some of President Trump's endorsed candidates lost their primaries. Representative Randy Feenstra lost the Iowa GOP governor primary after Trump endorsed him four days before the election. Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, who was endorsed by Trump nine months before Georgia's gubernatorial primary, also lost. Additionally, Trump's primary selections for governor in South Carolina and Oklahoma are facing runoff elections.

President Trump has offered his endorsement more than 1,000 times in House, Senate, and governor's races since his first term began in 2017. Nearly 75% of his endorsement announcements in the 2026 cycle went to incumbents. For example, he endorsed Arkansas Representative Rick Crawford in November 2025. "In Congress, Rick is working hard to Champion our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Support our Military/Veterans, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment," Trump wrote. "Rick Crawford has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote. Crawford ran unopposed in the 2026 primary.

In March 2026, President Trump endorsed Representative Kevin Hern for the U.S. Senate seat in Oklahoma, which was vacated by Markwayne Mullin. He wrote that Hern "will continue to fight tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Champion our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Ensure American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our Border SECURE, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, Safeguard our Elections, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment." "Kevin Hern will be an outstanding Senator, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement – HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" he wrote. President Trump also endorsed Derek Merrin, who is seeking to unseat Ohio Representative Marcy Kaptur, following the primary. "Derek Merrin will fight hard to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Brave Military/Veterans, Ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment," Trump wrote. "Derek Merrin has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Ohio's 9th Congressional District – HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote. In the final days before the South Carolina primary, Trump endorsed Lieutenant Governor Pam Evette and Attorney General Alan Wilson.
