DARLINGTON, S.C. — Tyler Reddick won the NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway, marking his fourth victory of the season. The 23XI Racing driver started from pole position and led 77 laps in the No. 45 Toyota Camry.

Reddick experienced an alternator problem on the first lap that caused his car's voltage to drop dangerously low. The team replaced Reddick's battery with one of larger capacity after the first stage, but charging problems persisted.

"The battery wasn't charging at all. All day long just not running fans and sweating my tail off inside the race car. We knew it was going to be physical," Reddick said. He turned off his cockpit fans and disabled the power to his cool suit to conserve battery power.

During a later pit stop, Reddick pumped water out of his cool suit after it overheated due to high ambient temperatures. Despite these challenges, he overtook Brad Keselowski after Keselowski's final pit stop and won by a margin of 5.847 seconds.

"We didn't have the best car today, not compared to Tyler. Tyler drove strong and making it count right now," Keselowski said. Ryan Blaney finished third, followed by Carson Hocevar in fourth and Austin Cindric in fifth.

The victory was Reddick's 12th career NASCAR Cup Series win. He had three runner-up finishes at Darlington Raceway before this race. "I know never to give up," Reddick said.

Reddick won the Daytona 500 to begin the season and became the first driver in NASCAR history to win the first three races of a Cup Series season. He joined Dale Earnhardt and Bill Elliott as the only NASCAR Cup Series drivers to win four of the first six races in a season.

The race featured four caution periods, the fewest at Darlington since the March 21, 1999 race shortened by rain. The first 91 laps of the race were completed under green without interruption, marking the fifth consecutive race in which the first stage ended without a caution.
