FORT MYERS — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the Gulf Coast, particularly near Fort Myers, from Monday through Tuesday, June 22-23, 2026. Feels-like temperatures are forecast to remain in the triple digits during this period.

On Monday afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop inland, with rain chances at 30 percent. Spots of rain are forecast to begin forming by 3:00 PM. An axis of rain is forecast to form by 4:30 PM, with rain specifically forecast to form just east of I-75 by 5:30 PM. These storms are forecast to linger close to sunset on Monday, and parts of the coast could see rain as the storms decay before drying out overnight.

Overnight temperatures are forecast to remain in the 80s before dropping into the upper 70s. Daily low temperatures are forecast to be in the upper 70s for the foreseeable future. High and low temperatures are forecast to be above average.

On Tuesday, rain chances will remain at 30 percent. High temperatures are forecast to peak in the mid-90s in most places, and feels-like temperatures are forecast to exceed 105 degrees at times during the afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop in the afternoon hours, with rain coverage starting inland.

The inland areas have the best chance to see rain each day, while less rain coverage is expected along the coast during the upcoming week. Rain chances increase to about 40 percent on Wednesday and are forecast to remain at 40 percent through the rest of the forecast period.

Current temperatures in the region include Marco Island at 90 degrees with a dew point of 79 degrees, resulting in a feels-like temperature of 105 degrees. Bonita Springs recorded a feels-like temperature of 107 degrees. In Fort Myers, Gorda, and Arcadia, the feels-like temperature was 100 degrees.

Saharan dust is present over the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico, and the state of Florida. This dust is helping to stifle tropical development, and no tropical development is expected over the next several days. Wildfire smoke is also present from fires located on the other side of the state.
