IBADAN — Taiwo Oguntoye and Kehinde Oguntoye, twin brothers, married twin sisters Taiwo Adediran and Kehinde Adediran in a joint ceremony at a church in Ibadan, Nigeria, on a recent weekend. The four individuals met ten years ago while studying at the University of Ibadan after a lecturer introduced the Oguntoye brothers to the Adediran sisters, who initially declined the introduction by not answering phone calls before the group later became friends.

The Oguntoye brothers are fraternal twins, while the Adediran sisters are identical twins. In Yoruba culture, the name Taiwo means "the one that tests the world," while Kehinde means "the one that came after." The Oguntoye brothers, known locally as the Oguntoye Twins, are in their early 40s and work in culture and tourism initiatives in several countries, including the United States and South Africa. The Adediran sisters moved abroad for further studies after completing master's degrees in Ibadan.

Taiwo Oguntoye stated that he and his brother had always dreamed of marrying twins. "We know many twins, but this marriage feels like it was arranged by God. We have always dreamed of marrying twins," he said. Oguntoye added that he prays for future twins in their families. "With God's grace, we pray for twins in our first and second children. That is our heart's desire," he said. He also noted regarding past relationships with other twin sisters, "It's not that we haven't met other twin sisters before. We did date some, but sometimes things just didn't work out."

Several other pairs of twins attended the wedding ceremony. Kehinde Oguntoye confirmed that he and his brother can distinguish their wives despite their similar appearances. "Our wives look so alike that even their family members sometimes confuse them. We don't mix them up, we know our own wives very well," he said. The couples describe themselves as ambiverts and will live in separate households. Taiwo Oguntoye stated that the details of their living arrangements would become known over time. "We have our unique plan about that, over time people will get to know about that," he said.
