LINCOLN — Nebraska football unveiled new home and away uniforms for the 2026 season during the Battle of the Boneyard 7-on-7 tournament on Saturday night. Adidas designed the new uniforms.

The school described the new uniform design as inspired by classic Husker football design elements. The new jersey features two stripes across the shoulders and player numbers on the sleeves. The jersey number font is inspired by numbers engraved on an anvil, and the interior lines of the numbers are inspired by crop rows. The helmet design will not change, and the stick N logo will remain on the front of the pants.

Conversations about the uniform updates started more than two years ago, according to Brandon Meier, Senior Associate Athletic Director at Nebraska. "Our partners with adidas approached us about two years ago with updated uniform concepts to provide a modernized look," Meier said. "We appreciate that adidas recognized the natural connection between Nebraska football and agriculture and used that as inspiration for a design that is fitting of the hard work, grit and dedication of our state."

Adidas has been Nebraska's apparel partner since 1995. The last time Nebraska changed its home and away uniforms was in the 2002 season, a change that lasted for one season.

Haven Fields, Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer of Husker Athletics, said the updates aim to appeal to prospective players. "Recruiting is undeniably the lifeblood of competitive success, and young kids want to wear something sleek, modern, fast, and fashionable," Fields said. "These updates will give a cutting edge to the iconic Nebraska brand." Fields added, "We are proud of the final product and excited for the 2026 season."

The new jerseys are available for purchase online at adidas.com and shop.huskers.com.
