CARDIFF — Ashley Beck will join the Wales women's national rugby union team as interim attack coach for the 2026 Women's Six Nations. Beck will replace Shaun Connor, who served as attack coach for Wales for three years.

The former international center brings experience from his role as head coach of Brython Thunder for the past three seasons, where he guided the team to the Celtic Challenge play-offs. Beck previously served as the Worcester Warriors women's attack coach before the club folded in 2023.

"Playing for Wales is the highest honour you can get when you are a player and it's the same when you are a coach," said Beck. "To be asked by Sean to join the set-up for the Women's 2026 Six Nations is a real privilege and I am excited by the challenge of coaching at Test match level."

Beck made over 100 appearances for the Ospreys and won seven caps for Wales during his playing career.

Head coach Sean Lynn has assembled a new backroom staff ahead of the 2026 Women's Six Nations, including new attack, forwards, and defense coaches. Steve Salvin, the women's head coach at Exeter Chiefs, has been appointed interim forwards coach. Tyrone Holmes, who served as defense coach for Scotland for three years, was appointed defense coach for the Wales women's national team.

Lynn has named nine uncapped players in his 38-player squad for the 2026 Women's Six Nations. Wales lost all five matches in their first Women's Six Nations campaign under Lynn, marking the first time Wales lost all five matches in the tournament. Wales did not win any matches and bowed out at the pool stage of the Women's Rugby World Cup.

"We know we need to improve, and we're bringing in individuals we feel could be making that difference," said Lynn.

Wales will play Scotland at Principality Stadium on Saturday, 11 April in their first match of the 2026 Women's Six Nations.
