OMAHA, NEBRASKA — Bob Dylan launched the 2026 leg of his Rough and Rowdy Ways tour on March 21, 2026, at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, Nebraska. The performance featured changes to Dylan's typical stage setup and song selection.

Dylan replaced his grand piano with a small keyboard placed at the center of the stage and had guitarists Bob Britt and Doug Lancio play acoustic guitars instead of electric guitars. An electric guitar remained on Dylan's amplifier throughout the concert, but he did not play it.

The concert opened with "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight." Dylan played six songs from his Rough and Rowdy Ways album instead of his usual nine. He performed "The Man in the Long Black Coat" for the first time since 2013 and played Bo Diddley's song "I Can Tell." He also performed Eddie Cochran's 1958 song "Nervous Breakdown" live for the first time in his career.

Phones were banned from the Omaha show, and no video of the concert has emerged, but fans captured clean audio recordings. Dylan's headline theater shows require fans to place phones in pouches at the door. Fans in Omaha had a clear view of Dylan throughout the show.

Newsletter writer Matt Simonsen noted technical difficulties with Dylan's microphone placement. "We should all say a prayer for the roadie who placed Bob's microphone tonight, because Bob was too far from it when he sat, uncomfortable when he leaned into it, and picked it up and plopped it down about 10 times throughout the night (each time it emitted a louder boom than the time before)," Simonsen wrote. "In fact, the loudest instrument of the night was the microphone stand as it hit the stage floor!"

Despite the microphone issues, Simonsen observed variations in Dylan's vocal performance. "Bob's voice may sound weak on the recordings when they come out, but he sounded really good when he was comfortable with the microphone," he wrote. "At other times we couldn't hear him well due to the distance between him and the mic."

Dylan last performed in the United States on the final leg of the Outlaw Festival tour in September 2025. During those summer 2025 shows, Dylan wore a hoodie pulled tight over his head, placed a music stand and bright lights near his piano, making it difficult for audience members to see his face.

Dylan's spring tour resumes on March 22, 2026, at Mary W. Sommervold Hall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and wraps up on May 1, 2026, at Abilene Auditorium in Abilene, Texas.
