SYDNEY — Kyle Sandilands and ARN Media reached a settlement that resolves their legal dispute in federal court. The agreement includes a cash payment of A$12.09 million and advertising services from ARN Media.
The settlement terminates all claims and counterclaims between Sandilands and ARN Media. Mr. Sandilands will receive A$3 million of the cash payment next month, with the remaining balance paid in monthly installments until June 2029. Additionally, ARN Media will provide A$1.5 million in advertising services on its partner platforms over a three-year period.
As part of the settlement, Kyle Sandilands will share 19.9% of any revenue generated from his new show with ARN Media for three years. He is also barred from appearing on radio stations that compete with Kiis FM for a duration of nine months. Sandilands had been seeking A$85 million in his lawsuit against the company.
ARN Media announced the settlement in a statement to the stock exchange on Wednesday. The company previously terminated Sandilands' contract in March, following an on-air argument between Sandilands and Jackie Henderson on February 20. During the incident, Sandilands accused Henderson of being "off with the fairies." Henderson later stated she could no longer work with Sandilands.
In its announcement, ARN Media stated, "Mr Sandilands has advised ARN that he intends to pursue independent media opportunities." The company added, "As part of the settlement, ARN will provide Mr Sandilands with advertising services on ARN's partner platforms of $1,500,000 over the next three years."
