MILAN — Dolce & Gabbana presented its menswear collection during Milan Fashion Week on Saturday. The show's runway featured a video image of a rocky coastline at sunset and columns designed to evoke a Mediterranean terrace.
The collection showcased laser-cut suits, short shorts, breezy knitwear, tunics, and loose trousers. Some models appeared topless or in swimwear and silk pajamas. The designs included denim detailed with rhinestones, and suits, shirts, and trousers adorned with coral beading.
T-shirts in the collection featured prints of Sicilian lemons, ancient amphitheatres, and a mosaic depiction of Christ. Religious-inspired motifs were also present, such as cross necklaces resembling rosaries. Suit jackets in the collection had upright lapels and back panels that could be unbuttoned for ventilation. The collection also included woven leather jackets and woven footwear, and an oversized travel bag made of leather, suede, and raffia. The show concluded with models wearing all-white looks.
Front-row guests at the presentation included Robert Lewandowski, Kawhi Leonard, Michele Morrone, and Soobin. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana co-founded the company in 1985. Stefano Gabbana resigned as chair of Dolce & Gabbana in December, with the announcement of his resignation made in March. He remains in the role of co-creative director. Stefano Cantino was appointed co-chief executive in January, serving alongside Alfonso Dolce, who is Domenico Dolce's brother. Reports indicate the brand has a debt pile of £391 million and is considering a potential sale and leaseback of several properties it owns in Milan as part of negotiations with creditors.
