HOUSTON — Rudolfo Pinon III was arrested and charged with murder after a vehicle struck and killed Galilea Adan on Bellerive Drive in southwest Houston. Houston Police Department officers responded to Bellerive Drive at approximately 1:45 a.m. and located Adan deceased in a traffic lane.
Prosecutors initially booked Pinon for failure to stop and render aid before filing the murder charge. They intend to ask a judge to deny bond under Proposition 3, though a hearing date has not been scheduled. Pinon is currently held in the Harris County Jail.
Court records identify the incident location as near a nightclub on Bellaire Boulevard. Pinon purchased alcoholic beverages at the venue and was denied further service by security before he and his associates were removed. Adan operated the vehicle as the designated driver while Pinon and an associate argued inside the vehicle.
A witness observed Pinon enter the driver's seat of a stopped vehicle and accelerate into Adan. The witness told police that Pinon continued driving the vehicle toward two pedestrians after striking Adan. Police located the suspect's gray SUV abandoned a few miles from the crash site.
Court records describe a dating relationship between Pinon and Adan. Kimberly Trujillo, a cousin of the victim, said, "She didn’t deserve to die." Pinon told an associate, "You’re not ready for my lifestyle."
