WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said during an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" that "Donald Trump should keep his reckless mouth shut before he gets somebody killed." The comment came after President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social citing the congressional fight over Department of Homeland Security funding.

Trump wrote on Truth Social Sunday morning: "Now with the death of Iran, the greatest enemy America has is the Radical Left, Highly Incompetent, Democrat Party!" He also said: "What they have done to the Department of Homeland Security, our fantastic TSA Officers, and, most importantly, the great people of our Country, is an absolute disgrace."

The Department of Homeland Security has been partially shut down since February 14. Democrats have largely voted against funding the Department of Homeland Security without changes to federal immigration enforcement operations.

The partial shutdown has led to a shortage of TSA screeners at airports. Some TSA screeners have walked off the job after missing paychecks. Travelers at airports are facing security lines that last hours.

Trump announced his intention to deploy ICE agents to airports to help out the Transportation Security Administration. Jeffries, a Democrat representing New York, made his comments during the television interview on Sunday.
