LOS ANGELES — Ivanna Lisette Ortiz pleaded not guilty to all charges in connection with the March 8 shooting at Rihanna's Beverly Crest neighborhood home in Los Angeles. Ortiz fired approximately 20 rounds from an AR-15-style rifle at the gate of Rihanna's home.

Ortiz drove to the entrance of Rihanna's property, positioned her vehicle, and opened fire. No one was injured in the shooting. Police arrested Ortiz at a Sherman Oaks shopping center approximately 30 minutes after the 911 call.

Ortiz was found in a car with a rifle, ammunition, and a wig she planned to use as a disguise. Seven shell casings were found inside Ortiz's vehicle. Authorities have not determined a motive for the shooting.

According to the criminal complaint, Ortiz faces one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and one count of shooting at an inhabited vehicle. Ortiz could face life in prison if convicted on the charges.

"This was an extremely dangerous deliberate shooting in occupied homes," said Alexander Bott, Assistant Deputy District Attorney. "The defendant drove to the victim's residence, positioned her vehicle, and fired approximately 20 rounds from an AR-style rifle into a residence where multiple adults and children were present," he said.

Her bail was set at $1.9 million, and a request to reduce it to $70,000 was denied. Ortiz appeared in a yellow jail uniform with a waist shackle and entered her not guilty plea through her public defender. Her lawyer, Deputy Public Defender Derek Ray Dillman, entered the plea on her behalf as she stood in a custody area. Ortiz spoke only to waive her right to a speedy preliminary hearing.

Witnesses reported seeing a white Tesla Model 3 with a paper license plate fleeing the scene. A police helicopter located the white Tesla Model 3 that had fled the scene, leading to Ortiz's arrest. Investigators found six bullet holes in the vehicle gate to Rihanna's home and a seventh hole in a pedestrian gate. Inside the property, police found three bullet holes in a wooden fence covered by tall hedges.

According to the district attorney, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were inside an Airstream trailer parked in the driveway outside the main house when Ortiz opened fire. Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three young children, and Rihanna's mother were on the property during the shooting. Ortiz is due back in court on April 8 for a preliminary hearing.
