PARIS — Olivia Rodrigo released her third studio album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love," and announced the "Unraveled" world tour. The album is her first release in four years. The 65-date tour is scheduled for North America and Europe this fall.

The 23-year-old musician's new album contains 13 tracks. These tracks are formatted to resemble a vinyl or cassette tape divided into two sides. The album chronicles the breakdown of her first serious romantic relationship and includes songs titled "maggots for brains," "stupid song," "purple," "begged," and "My Way."

She worked with producer Dan Nigro to write and produce the album. The album also features a collaborative track with musician Robert Smith. She performed this collaboration live with him at the Primavera Sound festival. She told a news organization the original version of the duet focused on the feeling of intensely missing someone.

She stated in an interview that she composed most of the album's upbeat tracks before writing the breakup songs and editing the project. She said, "We had the fun challenge of going back and actually tweaking some of the love songs on the record and making them a little more honest and more sad and creepy." The new album incorporates musical influences from '80s pop and New Wave genres. The lead single from the album is titled "Drop Dead," and its music video was filmed at the Palace of Versailles. The album's second single is titled "The Cure," and its music video utilizes stop-motion animation and depicts her working as a nurse.

No independent assessment of Olivia Rodrigo’s claims was available.
