PARIS — Celine Dion will give two concerts each week in September and October at the 40,000-seat Paris La Défense Arena. The news of her planned Paris comeback broke in the French-Canadian newspaper La Presse on Sunday.

Posters displaying titles of her songs such as "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" and "Power of Love" were displayed across the streets of Paris. She is expected to perform multiple concerts in Paris this fall at the Paris La Défense Arena.

The singer made her stage return singing Edith Piaf's "Hymne A L'Amour" by the Eiffel Tower at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. In 2024, she performed "The Power of Love" and "I'm Alive" at a fashion show in Saudi Arabia.

Her Paris shows were originally scheduled for 2020 at Paris La Défense Arena as part of her Courage World Tour. Those shows were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were delayed again due to her health issues.

In 2022, she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological and autoimmune disorder that causes muscular stiffness, inhibiting the ability to walk and sing. "Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to," Dion said.

"Five days a week, I undergo athletic, physical, and vocal therapy. I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice ... I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself," Dion said.

Her battle with this illness was chronicled in the 2024 documentary "I Am: Celine Dion," directed by Irene Taylor. She last performed a proper headlining concert in 2020 on the Courage World Tour.

Paris La Défense Arena has previously hosted concerts by Taylor Swift, the Rolling Stones and Kendrick Lamar. Live Nation recently acquired Paris La Défense Arena.
