Tel Aviv-based startup Onit Security raised $11 million in a seed funding round to develop AI agents that identify and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The round was led by Hetz Ventures and Brightmind Partners, with participation from unnamed angel investors.

The company was founded in early 2025 by Ofer Amitai, Elad Ben Meir, and Tom Winter. Ben Meir serves as CEO. The startup came out of stealth in March 2026 and is working with about 15 Fortune 1000 customers, focusing on larger companies with complex IT environments such as financial institutions and manufacturers.

Co-founder Amitai's experience shaped the company's mission. In late 2020, when he was CEO of Portnox, a hacking group with ties to Iran breached the company and stole customer data. "They didn't use any super sophisticated attack," Amitai said about the breach. "The damage was largely contained." Amitai added, "When someone breaks into your house, I don't think you carry on in the same way." "I don't want any CISO to experience that feeling going forward," he said.

Onit Security's AI agents perform tasks autonomously, including collecting threat intelligence, understanding business context such as asset ownership, and providing solutions. The system requires human approval before implementing any fix. "There's always still a human in the middle. I think the market's not quite ready yet for fully autonomous agents' behavior," Ben Meir said. "And it's the same for cybersecurity. Why not have agents that do the tasks that humans just don't get to?" he added.

The company offers its AI agents through a software-as-a-service subscription model with tiered pricing. Onit plans to use the seed funding to expand product development and go-to-market efforts.

Onit Security operates in a growing market for AI-powered cybersecurity solutions. Startups Safe Security, Reco, and Bold also deploy AI agents to protect organizations. The company estimates its addressable market at over $23 billion.
