WASHINGTON, D.C. — Television host Sunny Hostin criticized President Donald Trump's March 21 Truth Social post about Robert Mueller's death on March 20.

Trump posted on Truth Social: "Robert Mueller just died. Good, I'm glad he's dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

"I thought that that was something beneath the dignity of the office of the presidency," Hostin said. "And I agree with those sentiments. I think that if you celebrate someone's death, you should be fired. I think it's inappropriate, especially coming from the president of the United States."

Mueller died on March 20 at age 81. He served as the sixth FBI Director of the United States and as a special prosecutor investigating possible ties between Trump's campaign and Russia.

Mueller was a Bronze Star combat Vietnam veteran who received a Purple Heart. He served as a line prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, prosecuting homicides.
