HOUSTON — Jayden Higgins participated in Houston Texans Organized Team Activities practice on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The second-year wide receiver expressed increased confidence heading into his sophomore NFL season.

Higgins said his preparation this offseason focused on both physical and mental development. "Yeah, for sure. I think first and foremost, you always think it's going to be physical, working on my strength, working on my speed, my lateral movements, quickness, route running. This offseason I worked a lot on my intellectual phase, just making sure I'm understanding the concepts we’re running, making sure I'm understanding when the timing needs to be, where I need to be in a certain time. Doing those two things has really helped me a lot."

He credited continuity in the offense and familiarity with his teammates for his heightened readiness. "I think just being able to be here at this time. Thinking back to last year, just the confidence that I built up has been crazy. Having the same offense, having the same guys around, it just allows me to go out there, play fast. I understand what I'm doing. Really, I can just go out there and make the plays when they come to me. But yeah, for sure, just coming into year two I feel a lot more confident and just ready to go out there and ball."

Higgins emphasized his versatility as a weapon in the offense, noting his ability to line up in multiple positions. He also said being a big receiver allows him to create favorable matchups inside against linebackers or nickel defenders.

According to Higgins, the team’s collective understanding of the system has advanced compared to last year. He noted that players started this offseason with a stronger grasp of the playbook and credited offensive coordinator Nick Caley for instilling confidence in the group’s ability to execute.
