CARDIFF — Owain Rhys Davies died at the age of 44 in Cardiff, Wales. His brother, Rhodri Davies, announced the news on Instagram, saying, "It is with profound sadness that my father and I share the news that my brother, Owain, has passed away. While there are still questions that remain unanswered regarding the circumstances of his death, our understanding at this stage is that Owain passed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully."

Davies starred as Agent Wilson in "Twin Peaks: The Return" and appeared in films including "Alice Through the Looking Glass," "A Serial Killer's Guide to Life," "The Indian Doctor," and "My Dead Ex," as well as the Netflix drama "The OA." He was a fixture of London’s West End, performing in productions such as "Mamma Mia!", "The Wizard of Oz", "By Jeeves", and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," and also worked at The Royal National Theatre.

He recently completed filming on two final projects, "Jeff the Killer" and "La Fantasia," both currently in post-production. Born on February 20, 1982, in Cardiff, Davies was the son of Conway Davies and the late mother who died in May 2021. He is survived by his father and brother.

The Welsh National Theatre issued a statement honoring his legacy: "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Owain Rhys Davies at the age of 44. Owain was a remarkable talent whose work enriched Welsh theatre and screen, and whose contribution to the performing arts will be remembered by audiences, colleagues, and friends alike." The organization added, "The Welsh performing arts community is poorer for his loss, and we can only imagine the many more stories he would have gone on to tell."
