ORLANDO, FLORIDA — Police arrested Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell following a road-rage incident on February 23 on a busy roadway near the Mall of Millenia in Orlando, Florida. Shaffer-Brockwell was charged with battery of persons 65 years of age or older, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, burglary of a conveyance, and resisting an officer with violence.

The confrontation began when Shaffer-Brockwell repeatedly stopped her vehicle abruptly and refused to let another driver change lanes. After the victim honked her horn at Shaffer-Brockwell, video footage showed Shaffer-Brockwell exit a white Kia, charge toward a white SUV, attempt to jump onto its hood, open the driver's door, and strike the woman inside. The victim told Shaffer-Brockwell that she was pregnant and had a child in the car.

Video footage showed a 68-year-old woman at a nearby traffic light attempt to intervene, at which point Shaffer-Brockwell screamed at the woman, scratched her face, and then walked back to her car while another man stepped between them. Police released a photo showing the elderly bystander with scratch marks and bruising under her eye. After the confrontation, Shaffer-Brockwell drove away from the scene.

When police located Shaffer-Brockwell, bodycam footage showed her bite a police officer's arm when he attempted to arrest her after wrestling her to the ground. "Don't bite me!" the police officer said. Shaffer-Brockwell responded "Get the f— off of me." Backup officers arrived, restrained Shaffer-Brockwell, and took her into custody. Shaffer-Brockwell, 37, faces multiple charges stemming from the February 23 incident.
