Meta announced it would keep the virtual reality version of Horizon Worlds operational following fan response. The company had previously announced plans to shut down the virtual reality version of Horizon Worlds.

Horizon Worlds is the main metaverse experience owned and operated by Meta. Horizon Worlds includes a "comedy club" feature where users can sign up to perform on stage like an open mic night.

Meta has shifted its investment away from development of the metaverse. In 2021, Facebook renamed itself Meta.

Horizon Worlds continues to be available as a mobile game. Games remain available for the Quest virtual reality headset.
