SEOUL — BTS returned to the stage with a performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21, 2026. The concert marked the group's first appearance together in nearly four years.

The comeback concert was staged at Gwanghwamun Square, a historic plaza in central Seoul. BTS were granted special permission by the Korean Heritage Service to perform at the venue. Organizers described the concert as the first major live performance held at Gwanghwamun Square.

The concert preceded an 80-plus-date global tour across the U.S., Europe and Asia. The performance was livestreamed globally, while fans known as the BTS Army traveled from around the world to attend the comeback concert in person.

The group took the stage by walking along a historic pathway once used by Joseon Dynasty kings. The performance blended contemporary pop with traditional Korean elements, with parts of the show incorporating hanboks, traditional Korean clothing.

"To maximize the symbolic space of Gwanghwamun, we designed the stage with an open 'cube' structure that ensures an unobstructed view. The key point was to frame both Gwanghwamun and the stage in a single screen without either blocking the other," RM said.

The set list included the songs "Dynamite" and "Butter." RM performed with limited movement despite an ankle injury, and other members joined him during parts of the choreography.

The members reunited after completing mandatory South Korean military service and pursuing solo projects during their hiatus. The album Arirang was released on March 20, 2026, named after a traditional Korean folk song.

Nina, a 29-year-old fan who traveled from Brisbane, Australia, to attend the concert, expressed her feelings about the reunion. "Being from Australia, because of Covid, we missed out on concerts, so it's insane to be here and witness our group come back. It's almost in front of us," Nina said. She also said, "We haven't seen them in so long. Having this happen and to be [in Seoul] at the same time feels surreal to me. It feels like the world is celebrating."

Gwanghwamun Square is the main gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace, dating back to the Joseon Dynasty. BTS is a seven-member boy group consisting of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook.
