PORTLAND — Angel Reese recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Atlanta Dream defeated the Portland Fire 86–66 on May 29, 2026. The game tipped off at 8 p.m. ET, and the Dream improved to a 5–2 record with the victory.

Reese also tallied five assists, one block, and a plus-18 rating in 32 minutes of play. She shot 6-for-14 from the field, did not make any of her three three-point attempts, and converted 6 of 7 free throws, though she committed four turnovers.

The Dream forced the Fire into 28 turnovers, converting those miscues into 33 points. Atlanta outscored Portland 27–13 in the fourth quarter after the Fire had closed the third on a 14–5 run.

Naz Hillmon added 14 points and five steals, while Rhyne Howard contributed 14 points and six steals. Allisha Gray scored 13 points and surpassed 1,000 career made free throws. The Dream shot 17 of 20 from the free-throw line, compared to just eight attempts by Portland.

Sarah Ashlee Barker led the Fire with 14 points off the bench. Carla Leite scored 11 points, and Emily Engstler and Megan Gustafson each added 10. Holly Winterburn made her first career WNBA start in place of Bridget Carleton, who missed the game due to a back injury.

Reese, in her third WNBA season, joined the Dream in April 2026 after spending her first two seasons with the Chicago Sky, who drafted her in 2023. "I was just seeing how the player development was for (Karl Smesko) and how he developed Naz (Hillmon) in one year and how I wanted that," Reese told USA Today’s Meghan L. Hall.

She added, "I wanted to win. I wanted to come somewhere where I was gonna be able to win, and it was the perfect fit for me. Off the court, I knew this was gonna be the place for me. Everybody knows that. But on the court, I wanted to go somewhere so I could help a team get to the championship because I’ve won at every level. I want to win a WNBA championship, no matter what it looks like for me."
