CINCINNATI — Ronald Acuña Jr. hit two solo home runs in the Atlanta Braves' 5-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on May 30, 2026. His performance helped the Braves become the first Major League Baseball team to reach 40 wins in the 2026 season.

Acuña’s first home run tied the game 2-2 in the third inning off Reds pitcher Brady Singer. That came after the Reds had taken a 2-1 lead in the second inning on a two-run shot by JJ Bleday off Braves starter Martín Pérez. Earlier in the second, Ozzie Albies hit a ground-rule double and scored on a single by Mike Yastrzemski to give Atlanta an initial 1-0 lead.

Acuña’s second home run came with two outs in the ninth inning off Lyon Richardson, making the score 5-2. Richardson had been called up from Triple-A Louisville earlier that day and surrendered the long ball in his first major league appearance of the season.

In addition to his power display, Acuña stole two bases during the game. He has now homered in three consecutive games, including appearances on May 28 and May 29.

The Braves recorded four solo home runs in the contest. Jorge Mateo gave Atlanta a 3-2 lead with a solo shot in the fifth inning off Singer, and Matt Olson extended the advantage to 4-2 with a solo homer in the seventh off Brock Burke.

Martín Pérez earned the win after pitching five innings and allowing two runs on four hits and three walks. Raisel Iglesias closed the game with a perfect ninth inning to secure his 10th save of the season.

Brady Singer pitched five innings for Cincinnati, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks. He has now allowed eight home runs over his last 12 innings pitched.

The Braves improved to 23-9 on the road, giving them the best road record in the majors. The Reds fell to 29-28 overall and 9-17 in May 2026. Cincinnati’s Spencer Steer extended his on-base streak to 18 games with a walk in the second inning.
